The U.S. Pharmacopeial (USP) Convention's 2008 Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) will be held in Kansas City, Mo., September 24 to 26. The meeting is an opportunity to interact with the USP experts responsible for establishing internationally recognized standards for prescription and over-the-counter medicines, food ingredients and dietary supplements. The focus will be on Quality of Manufactured Medicines, Food Ingredients and Dietary Supplements.

Blacks Less Likely Than Whites To Receive Standard Of Care In Radiation Therapy For Breast Cancer

Black women are less likely than white women to receive radiation therapy after a lumpectomy, the standard of care for early stage breast cancer, according to a new study by researchers at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. The study, the largest of its kind, was presented in advance of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Breast Cancer Symposium, and is the first national study to examine such racial disparities in radiation therapy.
